NHD reflection

This year for NHD, my partners Shani Amos and Jasmine Long did an exhibit board on Kimora Lee Simmons. We used pictures of her, her two daughters Ming and Aoki, her husband Djimon Hounsou, her ex-husband Russell Simmons, and pictures of some of the products that she sells. Our board was set up as a timeline of her life. It started out with her starting out as a model and it includes her marring Russell Simmons. The middle of our board talks about her doing her Baby Phat career, and the last part of our board talks about the doing her own reality show, Kimora Lee Simmons: Life In The Fab Lane. It also talks about her having two daughters and marring her new husband, Djimon Hounsou.

Originally, we were going to do our project on Oliver O. Howard, who is the founder/president of Howard University. We changed our individual because we all thought that he was a boring person and we all didn’t know a lot of information on him. So we came up with the idea of doing our project on Kimora Lee Simmons because we all thought that she was more popular and way more interesting than Oliver O. Howard.

I was very glad that we changed our project because I believe that if we don’t do a project on someone that we don’t like (like last year), and then I’m not going to be enthusiastic about it and I won’t want to do it. Doing Kimora was much better because I knew a lot about her and I had a lot of fun doing her. Last year my other partners were very stressed out because we didn’t like our person, and we were very stressed out. I had a better NHD experience this year and I would like to do another exhibit board for NHD again.
